Servostep Motion control system
|
With four axes of servo or stepping motor motion control, mounted in a single 19 inch 3U high enclosure, the Servostep derives comprehensive command of complex motion from a PC-resident or stand-alone intelligent motion controller. A motion system is easily configured to a specific application, from 1-4 axes of brushed or brushless servo motor control, to 4 or 5 phase control of micro-stepping motors. 3U Eurocards hold the driver modules. Any MotionLink driver will plug into any Servostep drive slot and software in the intelligent controller configures the driver characteristics. A high-density rear panel 100-pin cable connects the Servostep rack to the motion controller. Rear panel MOTOR connectors provide power and control out to the motors. LIMIT connectors accept limit switch and encoder signals from the system. An INPUT/OUTPUT connector carries switched digital inputs and outputs to and from the controlled system. Analogue inputs are also available to monitor and control analogue process functions. All power supplies are included and are switch selectable for 115/240 Volts, 50/60Hz operation. The Servostep system is certified fully CE compliant.

Key Features
- Jogging - any axes, at continuous selected speed
- Linear interpolation - any combination up to eight axes*
- 2D Linear/circular interpolation - on any pair of selected axes
- Teaching - allows learning of an arbitrary trajectory with subsequent motion playback
- Gearing - up to eight axes* may be electronically geared
- Cam - with a designated master axis, up to seven axes* can perform complex cam functions
- High speed latching - accurate position reporting from a high speed switched input
- Encoder compare - high speed event triggering at specified trajectory points
*Needs two Servostep racks

CONNECTIONS
Motor, limit switch and input/output connections at the rear of the Servostep controller are simple, reliable and flexible. D Type connectors are used. A single rack controls 1-4 axes of motion, XYZW. Two racks allow control of up to eight axes, ABCD, EFGH.
